Our counselors help you learn from others’ experiences as well as unravel conflicts within your family.

Group Counseling

Each resident will receive a minimum of two-hour counseling groups per day and one peer group a day. Additionally, they will have recreation and/or exercise group during the day. We use primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with our residents. CBT is a form of therapy that helps promote behavior change through an understanding of the interplay of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Residents are assisted in uncovering unhelpful automatic thoughts and maladaptive behavior patterns that contribute to addictive behaviors. Treatment is active and requires collaboration and participation of both the therapist and the person in treatment. Our program is based on the conviction that intensive specialized and personalize treatment, employing evidence-based treatment protocols, is effective in treating addiction. We use state-of-the-art evidence-based cognitive-behavioral treatment modalities.

Family Counseling

Family counseling will be offered on an as-needed or as-requested basis. Residents who are involved with CPS will have family counseling as part of their individual treatment plan and will focus on recovery and reunification. “Family” is defined as those persons closest to the person in treatment and who will be the primary support system as the person leaves treatment. We encourage all family members to attend therapy so they do can learn how to best support the person in treatment as well as learn what behaviors may be counterproductive to the person in recovery.
